    1. [MASTERS] Need List Administrator
    2. David R Masters
    3. I will be resigning as the List Administrator of the MASTERS mailing list, either as soon as someone will volunteer to take it over, or within a few weeks. Therefore I am now asking if anyone would be interested in taking over to please contact me privately. I have had several medical problems this past year, something to be expected when you reach "Medicare age", and with each visit to a doctor, more warranty work is discovered that needs to be done. Even before that I have not been as active to revitalize the list. It is time for a change. I have been quite proud of this list since I first established it in 1968. At that time using the internet for genealogical research was real exciting....there was a core of avid researchers exchanging information. Now it has become routine mostly. I have "met" many interesting correspondents thru these years, and hopefully have assisted some of them in finding their family roots, and it has given me a good feeling when someone is excited about finally finding their heritage. I know the feeling, because I felt the same after receiving a copy of Jack Masters book on our family's history. Jack did a great service to our branch of the Masters by compiling the book. Also Jack was an inspiration thru our personal correspondence to provide more services for Masters research. My web site, The Masters Family Association, at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mastersfamilyassociation. will remain to guide newcomers to resources on the net, and from time to time I will monitor it for any required changes. Also, I'll remain on the list as a subscriber to this list. I would encourage everyone to share what research they have with others....you never know, but someone might just help you. Thank you Dave Masters dmasters@houston.quik.com

    1. [MASTERS] STEPHEN MASTERS/JUDITH SLOAT
    2. Diane
    3. Has anyone searching the above line ever found any information about Judith's parentage??? Stephen Masters b 1754 Sussex Co., NJ m Hardiston, Sussex Co. 9/16/1783 Judith SLOAT b 4/6/1764 NY (as 1850 Ohio Census shows). Stephen's line goes back to Richard b c 1700, etc., but I cannot find a thing regarding Judith's actual birth place or her parents or siblings. Is Judith perhaps a sister to Elias SLOAT b 1767 Newark, NJ (he migrated to Canada married into the HAVENS family)? Elias named his 1st son 'Abraham' - perhaps after Abraham shown below? Are Abraham and Elizabeth SLOAT, shown as members of the First Baptist Church, Wantage, Sussex Co., NJ 1791, her parents??? Any info on my 'lost' Judith appreciated. My Davidson is listed to have been born 1822 NC. I have never found anything on the Nancy MASTERS in the census' nor Lucinda GORDON. Have you a MASTERS who married a MORGAN? I would gladly send a copy of the estate settlement if you think you can find a connection. NOTE- STODDARD CO.
