    1. [MASSEY-L] William MASSEY born c1796 (Chester?), married 1818 Wrexham.
    2. Donald Massey
    3. William, my gt gt grandfather, has been my brickwall for about six years. In the 1851 and 1861 Censuses, he showed his birthplace as Chester, but I have tried all the city parishes and several close by without success. >From the naming sequence of his children, his parents may have been John and Mary: a couple of this name had a daughter Charlotte baptised in Ruabon while living at Hafod, but I can not find their marriage in the Hayes Index or the Merrill index. I can not find Charlotte in later life, either marrying or being buried in Clwyd or Cheshire border parishes. William lived succesively in Bangor Isycoed, Erbistock, Moreton Below, Gyfelia, Pentre Coed (Salop) and Rhosymadoc (all except Pentre Coed in Denbighshire or Flintshire, having children baptised in the first three parishes listed, and died in Ruabon in 1870. If anyone has a spare William fitting any of these parameters, please let me know! Donald Massey

    3. To all of our British cousins, please indicate the County, Region and Kingdom in which your Massey relatives lived. Most of us in the USA do not readily identify the names and location of the places you mention, i.e., that Chester is in Cheshire, England; that Ruabon, Bangor-is-y-coed, Erbistock, and Denbigh, Denbighshire are in the Clwyd Region of North Eastern, Wales, etc. Thanks for understanding and assisting us in locating our ancestors from across the Atlantic.
