Searching for my great grandmother's, Angeline Lafayette's, biological parents and siblings. She possibly had Boles/Bowles and Massey connections. Angeline Lafayette b. 14 Jul 1847 d. 06 Jun 1939, 2 year old "pauper" in household of Jepee/Jessie Gieger on 1850 census of Covington Co., MS. Angeline was raised by the Gieger family as a foster child. According to Gieger family descendants, Angeline's parents were believed to have been French inn keepers who died during an epidemic. Angeline had several brothers who were taken in by different families. On the 1850 census of Smith Co., MS, adjacent to Covington Co., there appears to be a family of Lafayette boys being overseen by 26 year old Isaac Boles Lafayette, with the help of William Massey: 1850- Smith co., MS- p.311, Head of household, William Massey, 58 year old male, farmer, born SC. Living in same household, Isaac Boles Lafayette, 26 year old male, overseer, born AL; William M.D. Lafayette, 18 year old male, student, born MS; Arthur M. Lafayette, 16 year old male, student born MS; Powhatten E. Lafayette, 11 year old male, born MS; Benjamin F. Lafayette, 9 year old male, born MS; Henry Lafayette, 5 year old male, born MS. One Isaac Boles is found on an early Carolina census but I have not been able to connect him to Isaac Boles Lafayette.
