Probably someone thought Celia was a more proper spelling of Selah. Pettipool Massey and my Richard Massey are both on the the Poplar Springs Baptist Church rolls - neither of their wife is. I've thought maybe Selah and Richard Massey' s first wife may have been Quakers from the names of their male children - but no backup for this idea. Others have speculated or guessed that Selah could have been a Williams or a Hodges. If anyone has an original source that supports either or both of these surnames, I'd love to hear from you! [No need to quote an Internet article unless they give their source.] Pettipool was a first cousin of my 4-great grandfather Richard Massey - I'd love to know more about both of their wives.
