Hi Folks, I've been researching my late husband's line of Masseys and I don't believe anyone on this list has posted a connection to this line. I believe his first ancestor in America was Samuel Massey, a Quaker, born in Ireland between 1666 and 1670, emigrated from County Cork, Ireland, to Philadelphia PA in 1710, died about 20 Sept. 1720 in Philadelphia County, Province of Pennsylvania. However, I have not confirmed the link through Samuel's line to the Thomas Massey known to be in our line as below. I have named this line of descendancy "the Philadelphia line." Although our line has been in MD since 1870, there is no known link connecting to the Masseys of Kent County MD nor have I been able to find a link to the Thomas Massey line of Chester County PA, although I suspect an earlier generational link between that Thomas and Samuel who were both Irish Quakers. My son has volunteered to participate with a DNA test which I hope to arrange sometime in the near future and that may answer some questions.
