Looking for parents or siblings of Harrison Massey, b. 1841 TN. He first shows up in 1860 in Grayson Co. TX, single and working as a hired hand on the John Hinning [Haining] farm. In that census there are a few other Massey/Massie families but the only one that seems possibly connected to Harrison is the family of Patent (Patton?) Massey, wf Nancy C. and 3 small children. According to this 1860 census, Patent was b. 1834 TN. I have been unable to locate him in census either before or after 1860. In studying various Massey lines, I have found very few Masseys with the first name Harrison and most of those belong to the MasseyMassie line that originated in MD and from there went to Greenbrier Co. VA and then to Lawrence Co. OH. This is called the "Nicholas Line" by Judge Massey. This line also includes the only other Patton Massey I have found. I'm not sure if this is a connection or not.
