    3. Theron, Can I come to your house? kemis Behalf Of Theron Smith I'd love to have Thanksgiving Dinner with the family of Anne Pettipool and Richard2 Massey of Brunswick Co., VA - my 6-great grandparents. Naturally I'd want to know the names of both their parents, where they were born, the names of all their siblings, etc. I'd also like to know if he knew about the homemade coat of arms [with the weird crest reminiscent of the Coddington Masseys] in the possession of Richard's great great grandson, John Ross Massey of GA and TX. Almost as interesting, and with the same questions, would be my 4-greats - Richard4 Massey and unknown first wife [was she a STRICKLAND?] of Franklin Co., NC Martey's ancestors, John Massey and Lydia Sandlin of Bute/Granville, NC, would be a most interesting guest or host for him! [Martey: Have you done any recent updating on your early line?] Holiday Greetings to all! Theron Smith

    3. Absolutely! Your husband is, of course, also of this line! Also, most of the Group 1 DNA folks. One is from Richard's brother, Hezekiah2, and another probably from another brother, Joseph2. The ancestors of two Group1 testors have not been identified that far back. Cheers to all, Theron Smith P.S. I'd also like to sit in on the "dinners" hosted by Martey, Debra, and Sarah G.! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kemis Massey" To: <massey@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 29, 2008 6:30 PM Subject: Re: [MASSEY] Thanksgiving Dinner Theron, Can I come to your house? kemis

    3. Theron, In your opinion has sufficient research been done to find the names of Joseph Massey's wife, Elizabeth? If there is more to be done can you tell me what it is? What is the information to lead some people to believe that he was married to Elizabeth Lanier and Elizabeth Lee? Is there any documentation? Has the Virginia archives been thoroughly searched? Is there any place else that you know of that has not been thoroughly searched? I tend to lean toward Elizabeth Lee being Rebecca's mother because of the history of the name Rebecca in her mother's family. I don't believe there are any Rebeccas in the Lanier family. What, in your opinion, is the reason for so many different birth dates being given for the children of Joseph Massey? Any suggestion that I haven't thought to ask about? So many of my ancestors, born in that period of late 1600s to 1750s are lost in VA, I would surely like to get a few of them back to the emigrant. Merry Christmas Sarah G.
