    1. [MASSEY-L] Viruses sent to Lists Subscibers
    2. Theron Smith
    3. With resepct to several Rootsweb lists I subscribe to (COLEMAN, MASSEY, SHARP. WADE), someone's virus is randomly selecting messages from other subscribers from their hard drive - messages which I or others had previously posted to these lists - and sent a reply to me. The infected file did not go to any of these lists, so can't be picked up from the lists. The infection is in an attachment that genenerally has a pif extension and unusual subject (e.g.., Hamster.com or something about a fat man.) I didn't open any of the attachments I got and don't even know the name of the virus. So, as always, but espeically now, be very cautious of opening any Attachment that looks suspicious. If it's a .txt attachment, it's ok, but pif or exe can be dangerous. Regards, Theron Smith.
