I hope that someone out there can help me find more information on the children of Mansfield Massey, this is what I know of the family so far. In the 1820 Wilson County, TN census it shows, Daniel Massey 1 male 10/16, 1 male 16/18,1 male 16/26, 1 male 45/over, 1 female 10/16, 1 female 45/over. Daniel Massey married Elizabeth Baldwin on November 12, 1795 , they had 3 sons and 1 daughter. Garrett Massey b. 1796 Mansfield Massey b. 1804 James Massey b. 1805 Jane Massey b. 1806 Mansfield Massey was in Crawford County, Illinois durning the 1830 census it shows, Mansfield Masey 1 male 20/30, 1 female 0/5, 1 female 20/30. I haven't been able to find Mansfield first marriage record yet, so I'm not sure whom he married. Some people have that he married a Glenda Bright, but I don't. I think that maybe he married into the Henry family, James Enoch Henry married Jane Massey. Mansfield Massey and ? children are; Mary Massey b.1830 Robert Massey b. 1836 Boy Massey b.1838 James Massey b. 1839 Eliza H. Massey b.1846 William Massey b. 1848 1836 Mansfield Massey had land in the 1st district, and his brother James had land in the 2nd district. 1840 Benton County, TN census shows; Mansfield Massey 3 males under 5, 1 male 30/40, 1 female 10/15, 1 female 20/30 James Massey 1 male 15/20, 1 male 30/40, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5/10, 1 female 15/20 Garrett Massey 1 male 10/15, 1 male 15/20, 1 male 40/50, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5/10, 1 female 10/15, 1 female 15/20, 1 female 30/40 Daniel Massey 1 male 70/80, 1 female 70/80 Jane Henry 1 male 10/15, 2 males 15/20, 1 female under 5, 1 female 10/15, 1 female 30/40 James Henry 1 male under 5, 1 male 20/30, 1 female 15/20 In the 1850 Benton County, TN census shows; 19-19 Mansfield Massey 46 M NC Ellender 23 F TN (WIFE) Mary 19 F IL Robert 14 M TN James 11 M TN Eliza 4 F TN William 2 M TN Benjamin Bright 27 M UNK Artamissa 1 F TN Ellender Bright and Mansfield Massey were married May 23, 1850, and Benjamin Bright and Mary Massey, Mansfield's daughter, were married March 14, 1850. They weren't found in the 1860 census for Benton County, Tennessee. It's a mystery to me, I was hoping to find out more information on Mansfield's children and their spouses and children. But I know they had to be they're somewhere because they own land there... In 1863 Mansfield Massey's son Robert sold some land to J.T. Florence & Banabus Beasley. And in Dec.24, 1866 Mansfield filed an Intention for the Benefit of the Homestead in a Branch of Eagle Creek, Thomas Cain was with him at the time of filing. Also in Dec.27, 1866 Mansfield sold some land to his nephew William Henry. In the 1870 Benton County, TN census which was taken on July 21 1870, Mansfield Massey's wife Ellen and their children were in the 1st district, 58-58 Massey, Ellen 43 f w keeping house 600 356 Columbus 18 m w working farm Sarah 17 f w at home Samuel 16 m w (Clark) Pinkney 13 m w Jinner 10 m w (Junior also known as Brown) Mansfield 7 m w I also found Columbus and Sarah Massey in the 1870 Humphreys County, TN census which was taken on August 10, 1870, so that makes me think that maybe Sarah and Columbus are married, and therefore she is not Mansfield Massey's daughter. I know what happened to Mansfield Massey Jr., Clark Pinkney, and Eliza Massey. Mansfield , Pinkney, and Brown moved to Clay County, AR in 1880, Brown dissappeared after that, and Eliza Massey moved to Dunklin County, MO, she never married. I'm not sure but I think Mansfield Massey, SR. died somewhere between 1867 & 1870. I hope that someone out there can help me find more information on his children. Thanks ahead of time!
