Massey published the following three books. When I refer to his writings. it's almost always the ADDENDUM, the most useful of the three. I don't know whether all three of these or just the ADDENDUM have been reprinted. If you're purchasing only one book, it should most definitely be the ADDENDUM. Here are the three, in order of their usefulness: 1. 1979: MASSEY GENEALOGY ADDENDUM 2. 1980: MASSEY ON CENSUS 3. 1974:Two books published as one: (a) MY MASSEY FAMILY IN ENGLAND. This section discussed the same area covered in the new MASSEY GENEALOGY 2000 by William W. Massey, Jr. (b) MASSEY FAMILIES IN AMERICA. The MASSEY ADDENDUM and MASSEY ON CENSUS has more complete and more accurate information than the material in this section. Generally when list subscibers mention the "new" book, they have in mind the one published in 2000: MASSEY GENEALOGY 2000 by William W. Massey, Jr. Price is $45.00 postpaid; hard bound; 232 pages. Order from the author: William W. Massey Jr. 7703 Deerwood Pointe Jacksonville. FL 32256 If you have any questions as to the difference in the two sets of books or other questions, I invite you to contact me directly at my personal Email. I don't want to repeat on the list too much of what I've already posted there, but I have details I can send directly to you. Regards, Theron Smith.

My Family was supposed to start charging for their websites, but they haven't yet. I'm hoping they've changed their minds...:) Just in case, we need to try and upload as many pictures and such as we can BEFORE they do start charging. Once you've logged into the site, you may invite as many people as you would like. Hoping to hear from you! Brenda

And he & Mary were in Hunt Co, TX in 1900. There is no census for 1890 of course. 1880 TN census soundex I located 2 James Masseys at age 7(b.1873). 3. I am still looking for the family of the John MASSEY who married Agnes COLLIER in either Brunwick Co VA or Northampton Co NC. Don't know birthdates, could be anywhere from abt 1740 to abt 1760. John and "Aggy" found on a deed in 1787 Northampton Co NC and John witnessed the will of her father, Thomas Collier, in 1797. I have found plenty of Massey families with sons named John in these areas, but none that show a marriage to anyone named Collier, or Agnes/Aggy/Aggie. The Collier family migrated to Caswell Co, NC and believe that John and Aggy did, also. Some of Aggy's Colliers eventually moved on to Giles Co TN, but have found no record of John and Aggy there. It has occurred to me that perhaps John died and Aggy remarried, or vice versa, aft 1797. Does anyone out there have this couple in their line ? 1. [MASSEY-L] List of Judge Massey books
    2. Theron L. Smith
    3. Judge Frank A. Massey published the following three books. When I refer to his writings. it's almost always to the ADDENDUM, the most useful of the three. I don't know whether all three of these or just the ADDENDUM have been reprinted. If you're purchasing only one book, it should most definitely be the ADDENDUM. Here are the three, in order of their usefulness: 1. 1979: MASSEY GENEALOGY ADDENDUM This covers the 19 different Massey/Massie/Masey/Macey/Macy familes found in the US and Canada and is the book I refer to frequently in my posts. It's extremely good for beginners looking for their lines. Of the 19 families covered here, only one (the Massey of Shirley Hundreds - chapter XIX) are treated in the new MASSEY GENEALOGY 2000 by William W. Massey, Jr.. and, the old books carry these lines down much closer to the present time. This volume also has an index to itself and to the 1974 MASSEY FAMILIES IN AMERICA 2. 1980: MASSEY ON CENSUS This lists the US federal census infomation from 1790 through 1850 for Massey and similar names. A few early state census record are also included and several marriage records are listed. When possible. these records are tied back to one of the 19 families on the ADDENDUM. 3. 1974:Two books published as one: (a) MY MASSEY FAMILY IN ENGLAND. Regards, Theron Smith

    3. For England, Judge Massey's books only covers the ancient Masseys of Puddington, Coddington, Tatton, Cambridgeshire - all except the last in Cheshire. His ADDENDUN does cover the Geoffrey Massey family of Canada [family of Governor-General Vincent Massey and the late actor Raymond Massey. Judge Massey sent Raymond a complimentary copy of his book and got a nice reply from him. Theron Smith.
