Hi to list, I have a Hiram Estep married to a Margaret Massey/Massie.Is there anyone reserching these lines? They married in Ohio in 1850. I think her father was Jonathan Massie and Margaret Roach. I really could uses a little help....:) Emma
Hello to the list, I'm new here as I have found a Massie/Massey in my Line. This is what I have: Margaret Massey/Massie b-about 1830 in Lawrence County, Ohio. Married Hiram Estep/Eastip in Lawrence County, Ohio in 1850, and all there childern were born there. And there are: Manderville Estep b-1851, Pleasant Estep b1853, William Estep b-1855, Jesse Estep b-1857, and Andrew J. Estep b-1864. I come down from Andrew J. Estep, who married Anna Belle Meadows from Cable County, WV., Anna and Andrew Estep had 5 daughters. One was Valinda lou Estep who married William Otis VanCamp in Huntington, WV. in 1910. My mother was from this union and her name was Margaret Bell Vancamp who married John C. Price. I'm looking for info as to who the parents of Margaret Massie may be. I find on the 1850 census in Highland, Jackson Co. Ohio a William B. Massie 40 and his wife Cynthia (?) age 37, and I'm thinking this just may be Margaret's parents. Can any of you please help me here? Thanks so much, Emma Price Ayles

Georgia with this listing. Jacob Ivester - 30 - NC Nancy - 24 - SC/NC John - 5 - Ga Monroe - 3 - Ga Reuben - 1 - Ga Elizabeth - 1 - Ga Later census records show that they named their children: John A., Asa Monroe, Reuben, Elizabeth, Joseph H., William R. Jacob Foster, George W., & Benjamin Franklin. Later funeral records in Missouri indicate that Nancy's maiden name was MASSY. So I have been trying to find who her parents might be. AND... I thought the name Reuben might be a clue as I know that name isn't used in the Ivester family. The same goes for the second son Monroe. His name is actually Asa Monroe. I have found the following also listed in the 1850 census for Walker Co., Ga. John Massey, age 55 and wife Nancy, age 43 and their family. Ansel Massy, age 47 and wife Sarah, age 47 and their family. They have a son names Reuben. Clem Massy, age 48 and wife Anna, age 47 and their family. Starling Massy, age 25 and wife Martha, age 24 and their family Warren Massey, age 63 and wife Nancy, age 53 and their family. Richard H. Massy, age 33 and wife Mary M., age 31 and their family Wilson Massy, age 30 and wife Rachel, age 28 and their family James Massey, age 36, and wife Patsey, age 35 and their family. Does anyone by any chance know anything about a Nancy Massy who married my Jacob Ivester. Keeping my fingers crossed.... <g>. Thanks so much - Emma
Following is the 1800 Census for Lancaster Co, SC, information for William Massey and Elizabeth (Rives) Massey: v 10121-01301 They moved from Brunswick Co, VA, to Waxhaw, Lancaster Co, SC, in 1774. Two of my marvelous cousins have reduced the search for my John Massey from AR to the "1 m" in the "to 10 column, last column on the left above. I also have put in many hours looking for my "AR John Massey." WE have the identity of all the other children. Is there a Massey descendant of William and Eliaabeth or anyone with the information as to the identity of the person representated by the "1 male in column 'to 10" of the Lancaster 1800 Census?
