Amos Martin b ca 1789 married Elizabeth Hennessee b ca 1795 Burk CO NC possibly Ilig dau of James David Hennessee They are on the Warren Co TN Census 1820 with first dau Margarett. other childern James C, Calvin Josiah, Racheak, Eliza, Mary Evaline, Joseph, Edmund, and Patrick. Thiese families are on the Effingham CO Il census for 1830, 40, and some o 50/ Amos was possibly born to Amos Martin b 1750 Rehoboth Mass. Elizabeth is last found on !860 Ft Smith Sebastian CO AR census. she is reported to be 1/4 cherokee. Two of her sons Edmund and Joseph living in FT Smith in 1860 left for IL around 1862 because of Union sympathies. Elizabeth has not been located after that. Her son Patrick a savant was living with her and reappears in Ft Smith around 1880 but apparantly didn't go north with Edmund and Joseph. I wonder if Elizabeth went to live with Hennessee relatives in north east OK who were part Cherokee. Any bells ringing with anyone? Dave
