    3. John, I'm pretty sure this won't help you, but thought I'd pass it along just in case. I have a Jackson Martin in my line. His real name was Andrew Jackson Martin, though. He was born in Jasper County, Georgia, 1824/1825 (age 26 in 1850 census, Barbour County, Alabama). I found a marriage for an A.J. Martin and Nancy A. Bevil, 30 Oct 1851, Barbour County, AL, but I don't know if this is "mine" or not. It's certainly highly probable, since the family was there and "A.J." could obviously be "Andrew Jackson." His mother's probate records indicate that he was dead by 1872. A deposition in those records also indicates that he was known as Jackson. That's all I have.
