Took a quick look at a copy of "Abstracts of Georgia: Colonial Bk J: 1755-1762, compiled by George Fuller Walker, 1978 and found a little Martin info: from pages 116-117 GRANTOR: Samuel Thomson, master of the ship called the Charming Martha, "now riding at anchor in the River Midway and ...bound for London [England]." OCCUPATION: ship master RESIDENCE: X GRANTEE: Clement Martin OCCUPATION: X RESIDENCE: X KIND OF INSTRUMENT: receipt DATE WRITTEN: March 15, 1757 PLACE WRITTEN: Savannah PAYMENT: X DESCRIPTION: Thomson acknowledges that Martin has shipped three barrels of indigo on the Charming Martha. The cargo is to be delivered in good condition at the port of London to Mr. John Nutt, merchant, or his agents, who is to pay the freight charges.
