Seeking information on James W. MARTIN, born July 1856 in Arkansas (possibly Fulton County) and his wife, Annis M. (Mahaley?) MARTIN (maiden name unknown), born September 1853 in Georgia. To the Martin family they were known as Uncle Jim and Aunt Haley. Jim is the son of Rev. Harvey Zadoc MARTIN. His mother is possibly Rebecca BATES MARTIN. Parents of Annis are unknown at this time, but census records say they were both born in Georgia. In the 1880 census records, James and Annis were in Howell County, MO, in Benton Township. In the 1900 census records, there were in Izard County, AR, Guthrie Township. They have not been located in the 1900 census records. In 1920 they were living in Pottawatomie County, OK, in Macomb Township. The following children are in the census records: Harvey Z. MARTIN, born March 1880 in MO John H. MARTIN, born March 1882 in AR Joseph A. MARTIN, born April 1886 in AR Ada B. MARTIN, born October 1889 in AR Ollie V. MARTIN, born November 1891 in AR. We were told that she married a Mr. Stanley, and they lived around Mountain Home, AR for a while. The 1900 census record says that Annis was the mother of seven children, but only four where living at the time of the census.
