Russ, I can hardly wait to get the disk. Again, thank you. In about 1865, Laura's husband, Jared, took a trip by rail from Troy, NY, to the west. The purpose of the trip apparently was to visit relatives. I have a diary he kept of his travels. He visited his brother, Barton WAIT who lived in Beaver Dam, WI. That is really not very far from Stoughton. Do you suppose there is a connection. I will have to read the diary again to see what I can come up with.
