Hi Listers, I have just joined the list and I would like to submit an inquiry about Abraham MARTIN. Our records are rather vague however we think that he was born some where in Scotland in 1589. His father, also Abraham, was born in Scotland and possibly died in France. Abraham jr married Marguerite LANGOIS in France abt 1620. That same year they came to Nouveau France (Quebec) where he was a "Pilot of the King" on the St Lawrence. Later he was granted land on which the famous Battle of the Plains of Abraham was fought. They had at least 9 children. Incidentally one of the witnesses of the christening of their 3rd child was Samuel de CHAMPLAIN!
