Dear Elizabeth: My name is Jim White, from Naples, Florida. I am currently researching my family, where my mother's father and his family were Martin's from Monaghan. All the names you mention are common in all generations of my Martin family. My great grandfather was a John Martin and he had a brother William, as well as sons John and William. I suspect previous generations also had these names. However, my Martins emigrated to Toronto in 1891. His brothers emigrated sometime later. I'm not aware of his uncles at this time or when they emigrated to Toronto. John was born in 1840, but at this time I'm not sure where. I am currently researching this point. Perhaps it was Ballyblogh, I will research this possibility. William was born cir 1842. Their parents were James Martin and Jane Wallace. Do you think we have a connection? The other siblings were: Sarah-1844; Edith-1847; James-1854; Robert-1858; Elizabeth-1862; Thomas-1864; and Feregus-1868. Do you have any other information on this family? I have extensive information that I would be pleased to share. Regards, Jim White PS: Where are you located in Australia? If we do not have a connection, I can provide you the email address of an expert genealogist, in Monaghan, who has virtually every record available, in Monaghan. ----- Original Message ----- From: "bernard gresty" <berliz@bigpond.com> To: <MARTIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 02, 2002 4:49 AM Subject: [MARTIN-L] MARTIN bros.
