Hello Kathy, I am interested in obtaining a War of 1812 record for Jeptha Caps or Capps,who served from Warren County,North Carolina.There is no regiment listed in what I have seen so far.I don't know if he had a pension. He later moved to franklin County,NC and then by 1830 to Nash County,NC.I don't have a death date.Let me know what I need to do to ,and thank you! Going through the archives staff can take months -- it'll take me about two weeks, in general, though there can be exceptions. And, of course, I am a real live person to interact with instead of a form. I'm well-acquainted with research. I'm also a genealogist myself, not a profiteer (I have a day job!). I'm only offering because I love the topic and because I know how difficult it is to get ahold of these particular records, since they aren't all on microfilm.
