Hi Jessica, My mother was Alice Susan Martin, born in Philadelphia. Her family lived on Vassar Street in Germantown, which is now a subdivision of Philadelphia. My Martins go back to 1875 which is when they, James and Susanna Martin, emigrated to Philadelphia from Cornwall, England. They came from Bodmin, Cornwall. I have no George's in my files, I only go back to the father of my great grandfather, William Martin. That is one of the reasons that I joined the Martin mailing list at rootsweb. I would suggest that you research the LDS, or Mormon Genealogical Society. They have a vast collection of data from all over the world, and they make it easy to research no matter what country your ancestors originated.
