I'm wondering if "Caffey" is actually "Cassey" because of the old writing that wrote "s" as "f." You would think, though, that "Cassey" would be pronounced with an "a" sound as in "cat," not like a long a" as in "Casey." I think I may be making this more complicated than it is.
