I am looking for positive connection of my Great-grandfather SAMUEL ELLIS MARTIN to his parents. I believe they were WILLIAM MARTIN, JR. and TINSY LAWHORNE. He was born August 8, 1824 in Amherst Co, VA(according to the census of 1900) He married NANCY HARTLESS in Feb. of 1860, though by that time they had several children. He was head of household in the 1850 census, which contained 2 girls who were actually to old to be his, however, the other children listed were his. He had only one son ever listed in the census, WILLIAM ELLIS MARTIN. The family moved to Rockbridge Co., Va sometime after 1867 but before the 1870 census. WILLIAM ELLIS MARTIN first married LUCY LAWHORN(E), of Amherst Co., had 7 children, then married NANCY CASH, and had 7 more children. Any information would be appreciated. I do have a lot on SAMUEL E. MARTIN'S descendants, but not much on his ancestors. Thanks, Phyllis
