Gary, Do you really mean Lydia Martin d/o John Martin & Hester Roberts died at age 110? b. 1655 and d 1765 Piscataway NJ. Married John Smalley Jr. 1676? Richard Clark [email protected]
Your math is correct, the date of death is not! I posted a response to that earlier today, but it did not seem to come through as yet. The date of death was apparently 1730-33. I think the 1765 was an error on my part in data entry, which I later picked up without realizing the error I'd made. Sorry for the confusion. My errant post also mentioned that the source for much of my Martin family history is a Martin family Bible, in possession of my grandfather, whose mother was Maggie Martin, daughter of Aaron Coon Martin and Sarah Ann Hodge, as well as a family tree that was produced by one of the family members. That tree had a gap from Lydia Martin to Joshua Martin, who was also my grandfather's soldier in his membership application to the NSSAR. So, from Joshua Martin forward, he documented names and dates with accuracy. From Joshua back, the dates were perhaps a little sketchier. Lydia's date of death was simply an error, which I didn't notice when sending that earlier post. Gary Allen Richardson PS The Martin family tree is fairly complete, with one section titled the "Martinsville Martins", and another the "Descendants of Aaron Coon Martin". It has a number of the Smalley family, as well as many other lines who married into the Martin family. There were often as many as 10 siblings, most of whom married, in certain generations, which makes for a fairly large tree. If you're part of that Martin family, I can forward a copy of the tree, if you like. It's a bit large to scan and email, so I'll need a mailing address to get it to you.
