    1. Alexander Strong Martin son of Alexander Martin, Governor of NC
    2. A notice for Alexander Strong Martin descendents. A shop in Summerfield, NC is selling tapestry throws with the history of Bruce's Crossroads/Summerfield NC included. The throw includes a woven picture of the Martin House....former home of Alexander Strong Martin who was the son of Alexander Martin governor of NC after the close of the war. Alexander Strong Martin purchased the house from Valentine Allen. The throw also includes the Bruce Monument, Bruce Cemetery, a depiction of Colonel Lt Horse Harry Lee and his bugler boy and other historical interest. There is a two page documented history included with the throw also showing a copy of Charles Bruce's signature which appeared numerous times during the Revolutionary War on pay vouchers. The history is documented. For those that do not know, the town of Summerfield was at one time named Bruce's Crossroads. You can see the name on pre-1800 maps. The name was changed in the 1800's to Summerfield. The throws were made for the Summerfield Founder's Day which was May 14th. There is a limited supply left and you may contact me for more information or call directly to the shop. The full color tapestry throws sell for $70 plus $4.90 tax and s/h charges. This seems high but the throw is very beautiful and worth having. Throws at National Parks in just two tone colors sell for $80. A portion of the sales are going toward the Summerfield Community Park. A throw is hanging in the Summerfield Town Hall. If you descend from this Martin line, you will be very proud to own one and have the history. A Shade Different (336) 643-6811 (They will take orders over the phone with credit card.)
