The father of my George is given as Henry J. Martin, born 8-18-1799 in TN. Henry was married to Sarah Bush. Henry's father is Jonas Martin, born 1-9-1775, in Lanesboro, MA. Jonas is the son of Reuben Martin, born in Woodbury, CT in 1746. As an interesting side item, Lanesboro, MA was founded by Jonas' grandfather, Samuel, twice. He was driven out after the first founding in 1755 by Indian skirmishes and went back in 1759. He donated 1 1/2 acres of land for their first church. Several years later, he was kicked out of the church for drinking and cussing!
