    1. 2 different JAMES Martins', 1808 & 1833
    2. SLH
    3. I am hoping that someone knows the parents of these 2 James'. I am still looking for parental info on Wm. Waddell Martin, born 1828-1829 in Anderson SC. Letters to/from him during and after the War of Northern Aggression there is mention of a James. There are also letters from a sister in law, Martha and Grace. In the 1850 census for Lawrence AL. there is a listing for a James Martin, age 42,his wife Gracina or Grace, born in NC age 39, and their children. The children are Malinda 18, Mary 16, Nathaniel 14, Elizabeth 11, Lucinda 9, Viana 5, and Lucy 3. All the children are marked as being born in LA.. at least that is how I read the handwriting. Could this family be related? Parents of Wm.? He would have been the eldest son. The 1860 census for the Rome area of Floyd Co, Georgia shows another Martin family. I believe this to be the sibling of Wm. Martin. J. C. Martin born in NC, age 27, his wife Martha H., 27, born SC, children are G. W. age 7, GA---A. J. 4, GA---H.C. 3 GA.. Only initials are given for this family as well as several other families. Any of these names ring any bells? Thanks in advance Sandy Hamilton HAMILTON MARTIN DAVES NELSON QUEEN DALRYMPLE CRAIG just to name a few..
