I am looking for Jacob Martin b circa 1788.I really don't know where he was born. His children were born in SC in early 1800's. Rodez, France who came over with d'Estaing's troops during the Revolutionary War. I say I think, because I have not been able to make a "verified" connection. Joseph Martin first settled in VA, married and moved to Wayne Co., NC. He had several children. I don't have the info in front of me right now, (I haven't entered it into my computer file because I have been unable to absolutely verify it - but, I'm close), but will make an effort to dig it out, if you like. Some of Joseph's children or grandchildren went to GA, KY, AL, MS, and TN. I haven't been following the thread of "Something fishy about John H Martin b. 1849??", so I don't know if there is even a connection, but I do believe there was a John. Most of Joseph Martin's children were born in late 1700s to around the mid-1820s, but your John could possibly be a grandchild. I know this doesn't help much right now, but I will dig out the info I have on this family. It will take a day or two, since I have a very busy day tomorrow. Lyn --WebTV-Mail-13109-3658--
