Hello, Is there anyone out there researching or with knowledge of the MARTIN family from Wayne Co., NC? In particular, the family of Joseph Martin, b. abt. 1758 in France, d. 1835 in Wayne Co., NC. First wife unknown (possibly Charlotty Unk.), second wife Telitha Unk. His children were - at least: Listed in will: sons - Lewis, James, Council, Sylvester daughters - Clarkey (possibly a daughter-in-law), Telitha, and Silvia Not listed in will: son - Burwell, I believe Joseph to be my 5xgreatgrandfather. I am trying to find out which of his sons was the father of Benagy/Benajah/Benagee/Benagor who was born in 1820 Wayne Co., NC, d. 1893 in Hardeman Co., TN married Matilda Tulithy Wooten in Wayne Co., NC. They left NC in around 1843 for Tippah Co., MS, then on to Hardeman Co., TN, where they had 10 children. If you have any knowledge of this family, please contact me. This is a long time brick wall.
