John...I am confused here...you say he was born in PA 1795...and daughter born in 1816 in Pa...so why would you look for him in IN in 1810? I would think(and hope) he would be in PA? Maybe in 1820 in IN? He was born about 1795, probably in PA, and married Cynthia SPANGLER, probably in VA. He is reported to have migrated from PA > VA > KY > IN. He had 13 or 14 children. There are no William MARTINs in the IN census for 1810. By 1820 there are 12. (Sorting them out has been quite a task!) William and family are reported to have lived in Franklin, Ripley and Lawrence Counties in Indiana. Their oldest daughter, Mary (m. David Whitstone), is reported to have been born in 1816 in PA.
