I belong to lists for surnames and for areas that ancesors lived in. I am researching the 16 surnames of both my husband's and my own ancestors (thru great grandparents). Some of them are common names and very busy like Martin, some of the areas like Chicago are very busy. Consequently, I do not open many of the emails, but instead just delete. I decide by the subject line. I want to thank you all for putting the subject line that tells what the subject "actually" is. This evening I had over 150 emails for the day. I was immeadiately able to just delete almost 20 of them that were letters to the administrator or about attachments and icons on the Martin list. On the other hand, another list that I am on has the habit of not changing the subject line when they change the subject. It is very frustrating to have to open and scan each email for the subject. Not to mention time consuming. The Martins may have a lot of non-research emails, but atleast you let people know, so that they can decide whether to spend time on that subject or not.
