OK- looks like a good time to put out my yearly query on my 3x GGrandfather: ABRAHAM MARTIN born 1797 (his probate record said born in SC; his Daughter and son claimed in the 1870 census it was KY); died July 1852 Wayne Co, IL. He married MARY JANE ("POLLY") HEADY (may or may not have been her 1st marriage) prior to the birth of their son in 1825. All children said to have been born in IL- but due to courthouse having burned- there are no records of marriage/birth/death . (It figures, doesn't it??!!) ABRAHAM & "POLLY" had 10 children: 1) JEPTHA born 1825...narried: 1) UNKNOWN; 2) PRYAN (ALLISON) COPELIN 2) EMILY born 1828...married AARON W. HODGES 3) PRUDENCE JANE born 1829..married JOHN D. VAUGHAN 4) JAMES C. born 1831 5) GEORGE M. born 1835; died 1875 Randolph Co, AR..married SARAH MOFFITT 6) ELEY AZER born 1838...married 1) LUCRETIA WATKINS; 2) MARY MAYO 7) ABRAHAM H. born 1840 8) MARY (**twin**) born 1842 9( MANERVA VIRGINIA (**twin**) born 1842..married JAMES F. DAY 10) MARGARET (or MARTHA) born 1845 After YEARS of searching for either ABRAHAM MARTIN's parents/siblings; as well as MARY JANE ("POLLY") HEADY's parents/siblings............I am still at a BRICK WALL which I can NOT seem to climb. DNA testing has proven that we have a genetic link to Central AL MARTIN's.......but I can NOT seem to link them. DNA has also proven a genetic link to Ulster, Ireland. CAN ANYBODY OUT THERE connect with my MARTIN line?? I STRONGLY SUSPECT (but no PROOF!) that my ABRAHAM MARTIN could quite possibly be related to the MARTIN/MARSHALL line out of SC........as an ABRAHAM was listed as "born ca: 1800- but died young." I am suspecting that perhaps he may have moved away"....and maybe they thought he was dead? ANY info/connections appreciated! laura elhzm@comcast.net
