In the census of 1900 of Hill County, Texas he has a "servant" listed as Charley A. Stanley, born in Alabama. My Grandfather John Taylor Martin moved from Tennessee with his father Wiley Martin to Hill County, Texas and he too has a servant named John Ovington who was born in Mississippi. These servants lived in the home. I'm wondering if we need to search for these "servants" to find daughters they might have married and took away from the home?
