The first impression of the Martin line that I am researching is discovered in Pennsylvania. Daniel Martin was born about 1758. He married Martha (Mary) Keatley, and they lived in Cumberland County PA. There were six children: John D., Sarah (Salley), Jane (Jean), Rebecca, Mary (Polly), and Anney. John D. Martin is my g-g-g-grandfather. On 3 May 1801, Daniel appeared on a tax list in Montgomery County VA. He was the progenitor of practically all of the Martins in the Athens, Mercer County, West Virginia, area. Daniel died on 20 Feb 1824 at the age of 66. Both he and Martha are buried in the Martin Cemetery, located on the Daniel Martin land tract, Whitley’s Branch of Walker’s Creek, near Staffordsville, VA. I am looking for information as to the parents of Daniel. This has been my “brick wall” for many years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jack Martin

John married Susannah Waggoner on 3 November 1802 in Montgomery County VA. Like John, Susannah was born in PA also.
