Oh, now I see the problem. Confrontation about personal beliefs that have NOTHING to do with genealogy, or do they? I have gone back and traced the original postings. At one point Mr.Bish did post a message regarding genealogy{ his personal by-line,signature) contained what irritated someone named Carol. Personal signatures are quite different than postings to the list. However, they can be like red flags to a bull. They are tests of each of our maturity in communicating. If you were at the mall and a person with a lot of body piercings and spiked hair approached would you tell them off for being at your mall?? Or what if it were some people passing out literature for a local gay pride day, or for a Christian rally around the flag day? Would you politely ignore and pass by the ones that you disagree with, or would you see a red flag and charge? I refuse to believe that Mr.Bish's personal by-line is the first time that you have ever met someone with an opinion alien to yours. In cyberspace you are invisible unless you identify yourself. Carole took Bish's bait and identified herself. The rest of us are so used to by-lines that we took no notice of anything but his potential to be a Martin cousin. Do you really want to find ancestors and cousins? Were you expecting that they would all be of the same persuasion that you are? I would have an empty tree if that were my case. I have missionaries, preachers, horse thieves, slave traders, brothel owners, mayors, orphanage builders, and poets in my tree. I was astounded to find that my g g grandmother was actively engaged in local politics in her time, if I refused her admittance to my heritage because she was not just a sweet little old lady baking, sewing, and raising crops instead of hell, it would be my loss and that of my descendants. Give Bish a break, he did not post anything other than genealogy until you challenged his by-line. That is allowed, you can make yourself one too and risk drawing the ire of people like yourself, who disagree with your position. You and Bish are both Martin descendants and potential cousins to the rest of us. Let it go. Karen,-- ( a past holder of the bullhorn at rallies, but working more effectively, one on one for the cause of Christ) Don't bring it on, I do not want to fight. Would not use this by-line, if it did not make a point. Just post your own colors up front. You are just as entitled and probably related to several of us. Just keep it in the personal signature, cousin. --------------------------------- Be a PS3 game guru. Get your game face on with the latest PS3 news and previews at Yahoo! Games.
