Hi, I am trying to prove that the John Martin who m. Rachel and they lived in Pulaski/Wayne Cos. KY, is the John who was the son of Moses Martin, III. Many folks think they are the same but I need documentation. Similar names of children and living close won't do it. Moses Martin, III was in the RW and I have his Pension Appl. which lists his children with his wife, Anna Heath. John is among them. But is it the same John Martin who m. Rachel and lived in Pulaski/Wayne Co. KY? I'm trying to finish my application for membership in DAR and the John is my weak point. Thanks for any help! Barb T

Moses Martin III and Anna Heath are apparently where we are cousins. Anyway, I have the death date of Moses as 29 August 1837. Since their daughter, Mary (my great-grandmother) b. 18 October 1796 in Knox Co., TN, married John Barnett 24 January 1825, in Pulaski Co, KY it is most likely they were living in Pulaski Co at that time. Anna Heath Martin died 1840 in Wayne Co., KY. Hope this helps.
