Martin 36 OK, Superintindant Public Schools Ada Martin 42 Teacher, grade school Dan Lee Martin 9 Concerning the children of Joe Allen Martin and Nancy E. Doolen: I don't know who May W. Martin married, or if she married, but she was dead prior to Jan 1951, because she is not mentioned in her brother's obituary. If May married, she would have most likely married in Montague Co, TX but because she is not listed in the 1910 census, this leads me to believe she may have died in childhood. Dan Lee Martin died on the Tueday before Jan 31, 1951. His obit appeared in Dallas Morning News. He lived at 330 W. 12th st, Dallas, TX when he died. His wife was Ada Belle Martin. Dan and his wife began as teachers in Bowie, TX. They also lived in Nacona, TX, and at the end of his life he was in Dallas, TX. He rose from school teacher to Public Schools Superintendant. He is buried at Laureland Memorial Park, Dallas, TX His Obituary only lists his son Dan Lee Martin, Jr (b. about 1931) and 2 grandkids. I believe that his son Dan Lee Martin married Dorothy Germaine Bean, they had 4 children total: Pamela; Riachard; Lawrence; Dan Lee Martin III. In the obituary of Dan Lee Martin, Sr b. 1893, d. 1951, it states his brothers are: Roy B. Martin, living in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma as of January 1951. Roy B. Martin married Leila Gandy, d/o Harace Gandy, Chief of Police of Marlow, OK. Roy B. Martin had only 1 child, named Penny Martin, and she married Bruce Scott of Marlow, OK. Roy B. Martin b. 11-18-1904, died 12-23-1963 in Paul's Valley, OK. Roy was also called "Tige " Martin. He and his wife are buried at Marlow Cemetery, Marlow, Stephens Co OK. Joe A. Martin, b. 2-12-1899, living at Vernon, TX as of Jan. 1951. This is my grandfather. He lived many years in Vernon, TX as the District Supervisor for the Gas Transmissions of the Lone Star Gas Co. He married Ora Gandy, d/o Horace Gandy, Chief of Police, Marlow, OK. When Joe retired they moved to Marlow, OK which had been the home town of his wife Ora, they are both buried there. My father Billy Joe Martin b. 1925 Duncan, OK was the only child of Joe A. Martin, having been born of his first wife Etta Keller of Duncan, OK. William Jesse Martin b. Nov 3, 1894, he was also a school teacher. In 1951 he is said to have been living in Houston, TX. I do not know who he married, and I do not have a 1930 census for him. I do not know his children, or his death date. Jim Dave Martin b. 1905 Sunset, TX. He was said to have been living in 1951 in Joshua, Johnson Co TX. Jim married Lora May Musselwhite. They lived in Cherokee Co TX. They had 7 children: Jim Jr; Peggy; Don; Edward; Clois; Marvin; Toni. I would appreciate any further info or data you can fill in.
