    1. Re: [MARTIN-L] That elusive Azariah Martin b 1763
    2. Hi, I'm grasping at straws here... Fran, I've been wondering if my 4g-gf might be a member of James and Azariah's family, and if you've found any indication. I don't know where he was born or who his family was and know very little about him before about 1800. Some census records state he was born in VA, and some researchers think it possible he's from your family, but I know of no record that he is. His name is Thomas Martin, b. 1770-1780, maybe in VA, m. Elizabeth _mnu_, and died in Hawkins Co, TN, His will was written in May, 1847, and proved 5 July 1847. He was a farmer and smith, mentioning his smith tools in his will. He possibly was in Hawkins Co. as early as 1797 or 1799. Thomas & Elizabeth Martin had the following children, all believed born in Hawkins Co. , TN. The children's names are: James, b. 1801 John Mahala Thomas William Aaron Paschal Absalom Elizabeth Abijah, the youngest, b. 1824 Thanks is advance for any info you may have on him - or someone who could be him.
