I haven't posted in a while so thought I'd give old Owen another shot. Owen Martin b. 1821 Va (per census records). In 1844, he marries Sarah C. Starnes in Meigs Co., Tn. He and Sarah have the following children (all in Meigs Co.): Mary Ann b. 1845, m. Thomas Jefferson Davis; John b. 1847, m. Elizabeth Jane Gross; Sarah b. 1850, m. William Gross; Amanda b. 1853; James b. 1855, m. Virginia Hess; Owen b. 1857, m. Adelia Colville; Jacob b. 1859, Vilena b. 1861, m. Thomas Moore (all married in Meigs Co.). Owen died in 1865; Sarah is the executor. In 1880, Sarah is still there with son, Owen, and her mother, Nancy Harvason. Does anyone have a clue which family Owen belongs with? There is another Martin family in Meigs at that time. Jesse Martin b. Va d. 1840 Meigs Co. m. Jane Hunter in Franklin Co., Va in 1808. Jane is also b. in Va. Had the following children: Harriett m. Jesse Chattin; J. Wiley Owen; Thos. J m. Sarah Fan; Henry (this could be James Henry) m. Mary Prillman and 2nd m. Sarah Cox; Jesse m. Martha McDaniel; Josiah; Luke P. m. Narcissa E. Powell; Mary Jane m. John Powell; John; James S. It doesn't seem that they would have had a Wiley Owen and an Owen, but I can't place my guy. HELP! Thanks. Donna
