He married *FRANCES ADALAID "ADDIE" FARIS 15 January 1874 in Union Church (Jefferson) MS (Source: Have copy Mar.rec. Vol. /Pg 232 Jefferson Co.MS.), daughter of *JOHN FARIS and *ELIZABETH KELLEY. She was born 11 October 1851 in Union Church (Jefferson) MS., and died 14 August 1934 in Waco (McLennan) TX (Source: Have copy of Death rec.). Notes for *SETH SAMUAL MARTIN: Member Masonic Lodge 204 in Mt.Calm, TX J.R. Nusom held bond with S.S. Martin in the mar.to Addie Faris. Spelled Farris on mar. cert. Seth was a confederate in the Civil War. Co "D" 17th MS Vol. Regt. Was aged 14 when he joined. Have copy of photo when he joined. He was 35 years old when he mar. Addie. Could this have been his 2nd wife? (Received a note from Tony Miller in Calabasas, CA: Jane Combs, I have a hunch that the Seth Samuel Martin your having no luck finding may be a grandson of Moses Martin and Mary B. Guice. They were m. abt. 1810 in Natchez, Adams Co., MS. He d. abt 1828 in Natchez, Adams Co., MS. She was b. 30 Jun 1791 Natchez District, MS and d. 15 Apr 1835 Natchez, Adams Co., MS. Her parents were Jacob Guic and Mary Elizabeth Beckley. Moses Martin's parents were John Allen Martin and Elizabeth Guice (dau of Christopher Guice and Margaret Plowhead). A numbr of the Martin descendants lived in the Northwest part of Franklin co (around Hamburg), MS. there were no Martins in th 1850 Jefferson Co census, but there were several in the 1850 Franklin Co Census. Seth Samuel does not appear in any of the families in the 1850 census, so it my be that he was not born yet.
