This is very obscure, but I am grasping at straws. I am trying to obtain information MARY (POLLY) MARTIN SMITH or her husband JAMES. Mary was the dau. of JOSEPH MARTIN and JOHANNA RAWLINSON MARTIN of Richland County, South Carolina; his dates were ca 1740-1833. I do not know the dates of Mary or husband James. All I know is that after her father Joseph died in 1833, her mother petitioned (in 1850) for division of Joseph Martin's estate. Heirs were listed and it said: (snip) Polley widow of James Smith in Indiana. Is anyone tracing this family?
