    3. Hi Edith, It does sometimes feel like looking for a needle in a haystack doesn't it ! All my Martin's lived in and around Donnington Wood, Shropshire, England - so I think we can safely rule out any connection. I know how frustrating it can be when you have no way of verifying information. I think sometimes you have to rely on good old fashioned intuition ! I don't blame your relatives heading for Tennessee. I spent a very enjoyable two weeks touring Georgia, Tennessee , Mississippi and Alabama - I think it was the best holiday that I have ever had. My favourite place was, I think, Atlanta - I just loved it there. I intend to go back next summer after I finish my law degree - as a treat after 5 years hard work !!!! I left it a little late to begin my studies and consequently have been studying part-time whilst also working full time. I must be mad ! Happy hunting and let me know how you get on. Best Wishes, Heather -----Original Message----- From: Edith [SMTP:edithmartin@dfsi.net] Sent: Saturday, October 13, 2001 6:53 PM To: MARTIN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MARTIN-L] Heather, I have nothing on my William as to dates of birth or death. However I show one of his son's was born in 1887 in Palmer, Missouri.(Washington Co.) That would put your William at about 30 years old at that time which isn't out of the ordinary. My William had 12 children with Sally Coffman: Silas Job, John Robert (known as Jack),Jim Henry possibly John Henry, Harry & Carrie twins, Lucy, Bessie, Goldie,Walter, Lawrence,Jesse, and Hester.John Robert stayed in Missouri all his life but the other children ended up in west Tennessee. I have pictures, spouses and their decendants but I just can't find anything at all on William or Sally. The sad thing is if I did find something on them I would have no way to verify since I know so little about them.
