I too have posted before and would like to add my brick wall, If there are so many Martin's Jumping off from Tennessee why can't I find "A" JANE W. MARTIN, or for that matter anyone BORN : 11/June/1799 that Married 14/DEC./1819. --------- Going by Suspicion ( only) I would have thought that if An adult had lost his wife to either Disease , child birth or Indians and he had made up his mind to go to the Gold fields in California then he would have provided that any Females be married before he left, last any children under his protection ( under the age of consent) in those years it was very Young. be given to relatives that would care for them till they came of age. In my place all I have to go on is a date and a short story that was written in a bible. and transcribed by a Cousin 3 times removed I still have not found any hard evidence that any of what I was told to me is the Truth. even after 3 years of looking at any and all files that were availible to me for that time frame. So if any MARTIN'S on line have any Ideas, or even Suspiction's of Who JANE W. MARTIN Belonged to I would forever be in your debt.
