I have question for you all. If family is living with a family when the Census taker came around would the family that is visiting be list just with family. So they would not be in Census. James P in 1870 Montgomery Co.TX. Could Moses Martin be with this family so they are listed. I did find Frances Martin but in 5 countries in TX. My guess would be that if a person was actually "living" with the family being enumerated, then they would be listed. If they were there just for a short visit; probably not. I suppose, though, it would have depended on the astuteness of the census-taker, also. One might do a search on the web for the instructions for census takers for that census, to see if there were procedures spelled out. I have seen that for all the censuses once; but don't recall where on the web.
