Hello Debi, Can I ask where your Samuel Martin came from? I have some elusive Martins, as well, who were reputed to have come from the East Coast to the California. Samuel was born in Tennessee, in 1833. His first wife was Jane Campbell (she died very young) and his second wife, was Ala Scott. They moved out here to Stockton, California, and he had several children, but I am not sure where there were all born. In November, 1876, he lost three of his children within three weeks of each other. I can't find some of them, and I have info on some of the others.
