TULLIS, Des Moines, Iowa. The many friends extend love and sympathy to MR. and MRS. TULLIS in this hour of sorrow.
This was of interest because I have Martin ancestors from Burlington, Des Moines County. They are Rev. John A. Martin, b. 1809 in England; his daughter, Mary Laura Martin, b. 1838 in England. The 1856 Iowa state census lists them as living in Burlington with the Rev. Martin's second wife, Giles (Graham) Martin and her two sons from a previous marriage. They were also Methodists. in 1857, Mary L. Martin married Thomas C. Clark in Burlington. I do not know who Mary's mother was or whether she had any siblings. Barbara Archer "Connie R.
