Is he possibly the John Martin who died in Abbeville SC in 1821 who had also married Unity Barksdale, Anne Thompson and Nancy Barksdale? I understand that the John Martin of whom I speak was 90 when he dies which would place his birth abt 1731. You have John Martin marrying Ann Spencer in 1744 but another source has him marrying Ann Spencer in 1774. I think 1744 is a typo but can you confirm?
