    3. Regretfully I have not located data for the children Shadrack Martin except for his son Martin MARTIN. I gleaned the Martin MARTIN data through the Hicks family connection......I know the names of the children only through a deed in which Shadrack Martin gave his children their inheritances. Martin MARTIN and his wife Dicey Hicks....Martin MARTIN was said to have been born about 1755. He died 24 February 1837. Martin MARTIN and wife,Dicey lived in Laurens County, SC before moving northward to Spartanburg County, SC. They lived in the area of New Pleasant which is where they died. They are both buried at the New Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery near Cowpens,SC. Their graves are marked or at least the headstones were exant in 1995 at my last visit. This concludes the data which I have for said family. Thank you for your kind reply. Shirley in Oregon

    3. Sky Dancer, Do you know what tribe Martha was from or the area she was from? The government kept track of the Native Americans as well the the "half breeds" on the reservation. The churches that tried to convert them kept records and government schools were set up to keep records also. There should something on Martha-it's just a matter of getting the tribe and or reservation of that area and moving your search down to the county level. Carol Anderson

    3. Connie: Hello! I'm not new to the list, but have not made connections to my "Martin's" any further back than Phillip J. Martin, of New York & Muskegon Michigan. Phillip J. Martin was born in New York in 1839, and his father is listed as "Daniel Martin" of New York. Phillip J. Martin died in Muskegon MI. I know nothing about "Daniel Martin" except his name, and approximate birthdate. I don't even know where my Daniel Martin was born. I'm very interested in your "Daniel Galer Martin", and was wondering if you had any additional information on him. His birthdate would have been about right for what you have listed. On Phillip J. Martin's death record, and in all the information that I've found, it lists that Phillip J. Martin was the son of Daniel Martin and Delilah Bundle (? last name of Delilah may not be accurate). Delilah was born in March of 1816 in New Jersey, so I have had to just estimate Daniel's age. I sure wish I knew more about Daniel. Something must have happened to him, as Delilah remarried a man by the name of Alanson Brinninstool. If you have any other information, or you think this could possibly be the Daniel you have listed Here with the 1810 birthdate, I'd love to hear from you! To me, even though I don't have much to go on, it's worth checking out the leads! Thanks for sharing your information. OH. here is what I have: Charles Martin was allowed pension on his application executed October 29, 1832, while a resident of St. Albans township, Licking County Ohio. In the spring of 1780 he enlisted in the brig "Dean", a privateer fitted out by the state of Connecticut and commanded by Captain Scovil, and continued in the privateer service until September 1781 when he volunteered for the defence of Fort Griswold. After the fort was taken by the British he attempted to escape by jumping the pickets but was captured, carried to Halifax and held until October 1783, being denied an exchange because he was born in Great Britain.&n! bsp; He married August 22, 1797, Mary Galer, born in 1777 in Pennsylvania, daughter of Andrew Galer, at said Andrew's house on Duck Creek near Marietta in Washington County Ohio.
