Reference was made on the list recently to a Martin Family Quarterly. Would somebody please tell about that publication. Is there any kind of index for it? On line? Bill Rexroad Hutchinson, Kansas
My larger family is planning a reunion for Jackson descendants on Aug. 12th. Information on this follows at the bottom of my querie. I am searching for the descendants of Clara May Jackson who m. Ernest B. Martin. She was the daughter of George W. Jackson, who was b. 10 DEC l832, in Milford Twp., Knox County, Ohio. George Jackson m. Elizabeth I. Hewitt, who was born 9 JUL l839, probably in Fayette Co., Pa. Though George was born in Knox County, Ohio, he moved back to Fayette Co., PA., with his family to live. One of his children was Clara May Jackson, probably born about 1860 in Fayette Co., Pa. I don't know Clara May Jackson and her husband's children's names, and would love to find that out. George w. Jackson, unlike the others in his family, moved eastward to PA instead of Westward to Iowa, as did his other siblings. George Jackson was the son of Ephraim Jackson and Nancy Ellen Cook. The reunion that is planned is for Ephraim Jackson's descendants, and Clara May Jackson Martin's descendants should be included. It seems that George was kind of lost to the rest of the Iowa Jackson clan, since he moved to PA. I would like to see the descendants all connect at the upcoming union. If you think you might be a descendant of Ephraim Jackson or his granddaughter, Clara May Jackson Martin, please contact me asap!! Here is the querie about the reunion: Some of us descendants of Ephraim Jackson (b. l805) and Nancy Ellen Cook Jackson are having the first-ever reunion in this century on Aug. 12 at 12:30 at the Red Oak City Park. Personally, I would be happy to see people there from his father's or grandfather's generation also. Ephraim's father was Abraham Jackson, b 1759 in Hagerstown, New Burger, MD. Abraham was the son of Robert Jackson, b l733 in Co. Fermanagh, Ireland, and his wife, Mary Henthorn, son of James Henthorn and Mary. Robert and Mary Jackson lived in Washington and Frederick Cos. in Maryland before moving to Fayette Co., PA and dying there. Robert and Mary Henthorn Jackson both served in the Revolutionary War, along with his father, Hugh Jackson, b l709 in Ireland. Is any one on here related to them? Ephraim's siblings from Abraham and Sarah Thompson Jackson' (1st marriage) were: Annie, b 20 SEP 1781 Aaron Jesse, b 4 FEB l785 at Fayette Co., Pa Mary, b 20 MAY 1790 Rebecca, b 8 NOV l792 Deborah, b 6 MAY 1795 or 96 When Sarah Thompson Jackson passed away in 1799, Abraham m. Sarah or Sallie (Brown?) (Thompson?) From this union were born: Ephraim** b l805 George b l807 Abraham and his younger sons and wife moved to Knox County, OHio about l8l0. By this time the children from his first marriage were older and began having families of their own. I do know where most of them went to live, if anyone has questions. No one seems to know where Abraham's first born child, Anne, lived or if she married. I would love to find the answers to these questions and learn if she had descendants. With her date of birth known, surely someone can fit her into our family. NEXT GENERATION: Ephraim's His children were: Sarah Ann Jackson, who m. Isaac Lyon Jackson, son of Ziba Jackson Mary Elizabeth Jackson who m. John H. Stultz Thomas Jackson who m. Abigail Hildreth George W. Jackson who m. Elizabeth I. Hewitt Rachel O. Jackson who m. Issac Martin Van Buren Jackson, son of George Jackson and Mary Hobbs Abraham Jackson m. married Rosanna E. Hawkins Nancy Jackson, b l841 - d. l925 Ephraim Jackson, Jr. b l820-d l822 Please contact me if your are related! Connie Beck Phone: 641 333 2537 2765 130th St. Lenox, IA 50851
