Daniel Martin Jr. was born in New York, probably Canniseto, as his family was on the 1810 census in Steuben County, they then seemed to have traveled to Morgan county Ohio and then on to Putnam and Allen County. Daniel Jr. married Eliza Vaughn in 1833 in Allen County Ohio, he died in 1886 in Sullivan County, Missouri. However, another branch of this same family continued on in New York. I do not have all the details, but I may know someone who may. I will forward your message to her and see if she has a clue to your Daniel, or to someone who may. Meanwhile, Daniel Srs cousin Rev. Eli W.Martin was recorded as living in Hinsdale , Cattaraugus County in 1825, 1827,1830. He died in Bath, Steuben county July 7 1850. I have found with my reseach, that almost all Martins found in the same areas turned out to be related, so do not give upyet! Penny

I am looking for a Daniel Martin who would have been born around 1808-1816 (somewhere in there). I do not know where my Daniel Martin was born, but he had a son, Phillip J. Martin and a daughter Sarah A. Martin who were both born in Cayuga County New York. Phillip is my great great grandfather and he was born June 11, 1839. Sarah was 2 years younger than Phillip. I'm wondering if this could be a connection to your Daniel born 1809? I don't know what happened to Daniel Martin, but he is listed as being the father of my Phillip J. Martin. Phillip and Sarah's mother remarried and together with her new husband, (Alanson Brininstool) they moved the family to Michigan when Phillip was just a 7 year old boy. I'm trying to piece together a family that fits what little I know about my Martin ancestry and I've found a family in the 1850 Rhea Co. census that could fit. Does anyone know the answer(s) to the following question(s)? The family or some individuals in the family may have moved to Meigs Co. after 1850. 1. Who is the Nancy Martin, 45, with Nancy A., 17, Susan 15, Gilbert 13, John 12, Thomas 11, Eliza J., 7 and Elbert 4? Rhea Co. 2. Do you know who she was married to? I can find no one in my line with the name of Owen. She was born 1-14-1878 in MO. Her father is Thomas W. Martin b. 12-08-1838 in MO. son of Thomas M. Martin b. 1804 in Franklin County, KY/OH/? He was married in Franklin County OH in 1829 to Hannah White. Don't know if there is any connection, but thought it odd about the name.
