I am searching for info on Arthur E. Martin& his wife Martha Bell who are listed on the 1830 Federal Ohio Census Index as living in Jennings township, Putnam County, next door to my 4th gr. grandparents Dan Martin and Elizabeth Searle Martin. I believe that Arthur is Dans nephew, whose parents are Robert D. Martin and Margaret Searle Martin. Anyone connected to this family? Dan and Robert were born in Conneticut, as young adults they moved on to Steuben Co. NY (abt. 1790-95) and then to Morgan Co. Ohio after 1810, and by 1829 were in Putnam, county Ohio. I have been told that Dan died in 1830, but have not been fortunate enough to find that documentation as of yet. All tidbits will be appreciated. Thanks, Penny

Looking for info. on the ancestors/descendants of Pearlie May Martin b. 1897? in/near Franklin Co. VA. Died 8/27/1946 in Akron (Summit Co.) OH in a car accident. She married Dennis Harrison Sigmon in Franklin Co. VA 11/7/1912. Dennis was born 12/26/1893 in Franklin Co. VA. Pearlie's parents are suspected to be William Stanley Martin and Mary Elizabeth Nicholson. Pearlie had a brother named Walter and a sister named Girlie that I know of. Believe it or not, I've been cleaning up my desk this afternoon, and found some notes I'd written down on possible Martin connections to my line. I didn't even write down where I found them, but probably on Rootsweb, as that's my favorite site. These are Revolutionary War pension applications, and and probably old news to some of you, but maybe it can help someone: Moses Martin, served in NC Line Rev. War Pension #W8415, Knox Co, TN, 1803 b. 22 Jan 1755, Bedford Co, VA; enlisted in Surry Co, NC and lived in Surry Co. for about 10 years after the war. Moved to Knox Co, TN, ca 1787 for about 7 years; then to Pulaski Co., I thought TN) John Martin, served twice in VA Continental Line; as a private and sergeant from an unknown county. Pension started in 1818, at age 79. (My own notes aren't certain, as I wrote down he was in Wilson Co, TN, in 1835. He would have been at an advanced age in 1835! Pleasant Martin, in the VA Line Rev. War Pension #S2729, Wilson Co, TN, 1835 b. 21 Dec 1756, Albemarle Co, VA, where he enlisted. That's all there is... I too have posted before and would like to add my brick wall, If there are so many Martin's Jumping off from Tennessee why can't I find "A" JANE W. MARTIN, or for that matter anyone BORN : 11/June/1799 that Married 14/DEC./1819. --------- Going by Suspicion ( only) I would have thought that if An adult had lost his wife to either Disease , child birth or Indians and he had made up his mind to go to the Gold fields in California then he would have provided that any Females be married before he left, last any children under his protection ( under the age of consent) in those years it was very Young. be given to relatives that would care for them till they came of age. In my place all I have to go on is a date and a short story that was written in a bible. and transcribed by a Cousin 3 times removed I still have not found any hard evidence that any of what I was told to me is the Truth. even after 3 years of looking at any and all files that were availible to me for that time frame. So if any MARTIN'S on line have any Ideas, or even Suspiction's of Who JANE W. MARTIN Belonged to I would forever be in your debt. Looking for family of Bridget Martin, who married Tom O'Malley. I believe she had brothers John, James, Anthony and Patrick. This timeframe would have been mid-late 1800s. Place - probably Pittsburgh, PA as they or their father came here from Co Galway, Ireland. Thank you. Carol Martin, Lynch, Joyce, Gibbons, Nee/Knee
Samuel was born in Tennessee, in 1833. His first wife was Jane Campbell (she died very young) and his second wife, was Ala Scott. They moved out here to Stockton, California, and he had several children, but I am not sure where there were all born. In November, 1876, he lost three of his children within three weeks of each other. I can't find some of them, and I have info on some of the others.
